Hey Jackpot Candles Fam!
Happy Friday, world! It's me, Jade, here with another edition of my weekly vlog Two Scents. It's my chance to talk about whatever's on my mind... Which, let's be real, is almost always candle-related. Think a combination of the best scented candles, skin-soothing bath bombs, self-care, and relaxation... Glad you could make it today!
If you're like me, it's SAD when your favorite scented candle runs out. The pretty jar, the beautiful aromas... Never to be smelled or seen again.... Unless?
That's right! With just a little bit of elbow grease, you can reuse your beautiful, American-made Jackpot Candles jars for lots of different things! It's a fun little project you can do with your little ones, or just a great way to decorate your home with a little bit of Jackpot flair. The jars, once cleaned of any wax residue, look good in ANY room and make a great blank canvas for many little art projects! If you all like this idea, consider this "part one" of our DIY series on how to reuse our candle jars.
To Remove Wax:
- Get some boiling water - any tea kettle will do!
- Place your well-loved candle on a flat surface
- Pour the boiling water into the candle (I used an oven mitt for extra safety). I LOVE watching the wax melt and float to the top!
- Once the wax has softened, you may need to grab a butter knife to help pop it off the bottom of the jar
OR
- Grab a hairdryer and heat up the bottom of your candle jar
- Once the jar/wax has warmed up a bit, you can start to chunk out the wax with a butter knife
Pro Tip:if you have some stubborn sticker residue left over (it happens to the best of us), make a paste of an equal amount of vegetable oil and baking soda... Let it sit for a few minutes and wipe away - it will take that sticky business right off!
Stay tuned for Part Two of "How to Reuse Your Candle Jars," where we're going to talk about DIY projects you can make with your blank canvas jars. For more inspo, you can also check out our blog about How To Remove Wax From Empty Candle Jars.

Let's talk about some exciting new candle scents! I love all of our amazing aromas, but my favorite candles are super-fresh and clean scents, like the two I've highlighted above. First is our Maui Mai Tai candle, an exceptionally tropical scent that's citrusy-sweet, like a bougie beachside drink. Next is a scent I've been excited about for MONTHS... Caribbean Dream! This is a linen-y clean scent that is reminiscent of a beachside cabana. Vacation vibes aplenty (we could all certainly use one of those, right?!). We have other new scents (more on that here), but I want to give one final shout out to April's Monthly Club - Aloha Papaya. This is literally only available until the last day of April... So if you haven't already, make sure you get in now!
If you've made it this far into the blog... Thank you so much! If you're a regular, you probably already know all this, but for any newbies, let me explain a bit about what makes Jackpot Candles so special. We started our company to 1.) create the best scented candles possible and 2.) bring a special energy to your self-care routines. Our candles are made with 100% soy wax, resulting in a super-clean, long-lasting burn. Our bath bombs are made with avocado oil, epsom salt, and shea butter for a perfect, skin-soothing experience. Unless otherwise specified (like the necklaces in our Heart of the Ocean candle or our Monthly Clubs), each one of our products comes with a jewelry surprise... A ring to be specific. Once your ring has exposed itself from the molten wax or popped out of your fizzy bath bomb, find the special code attached. Bring that code to our appraisal page and enter the details exactly as they appear on the tag (remember, it's case-sensitive). You're now the proud owner of a brand new ring, worth anywhere from $15 to $5000!
